UK National Alfa Day - 20 August 2023
Another huge Alfa Romeo get together took place at the excellent Bicester Heritage site for AROC-UK’s National Alfa Day on Sunday 20 August. The Giulietta Register Club was pleased to be invited to join in again this year and 20 assorted Giuliettas and Giulia 750-101s participated. It was perfect weather for top-down driving and most members arrived early to enjoy the relatively quiet Sunday roads.
We had such a pleasant day catching up with some very longstanding Register members, Peter Shaw, Bill Hayward, and Rod Mossop, and getting to know newer members, hopefully persuading them of the joys of participating in our driving tours and events proposed for 2024. Tires were kicked, restoration experiences were exchanged, and modifications, beneficial or bonkers, discussed or dismissed.
No polishing took place, apart perhaps on Russell Ware’s beautifully restored Celeste Blue Giulietta Spider, which won its Class in the NAD concourse. Congratulations to Russell.
Several of us had earlier signed up for the Parade Track session, this one for Alfas of a certain age (as we had last year), and this brief thrash around a too short track with too many cars was still the highlight of the day. Thanks to AROC-UK for another superbly organised National Alfa Day and huge thanks to all the AROC volunteers who make this possible and always keep it enjoyable.
